Digital TV broadcasts have started broadcasting gradually in Indonesia replacing analog TV broadcasts.For the public, this is how to set up digital TV broadcasts.Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information, Rosarita Niken Widiastui, said some time ago that those who still have analog TVs can catch digital TV broadcasts with the help of a set top box device.Set Top Box (STB) is a tool for converting digital signals into images and sounds that can be displayed on ordinary analog TVs.That's because STB already supports Digital Video Broadcasting-Second Generation Terrestrial (DVB-T2).Niken also revealed that by already using the STB, people don't need a satellite dish or a new one.This is because the UHF type of television antenna also allows capturing digital TV broadcasts."By using this set top box, it's not a subscription television, you don't need to pay monthly, you don't use internet quota, because you broadcast as usual, you just buy a set top box," said Niken.The implementation of this analog TV lethal injection is based on Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and Government Regulation Number 46 of 2021.The process of stopping analog TV broadcasts is carried out in three stages.ASO Phase 1 on April 30 in 56 broadcast areas covering 166 regencies/cities, ASO Phase 2 on August 25, 2022 covering 31 broadcast areas in 110 regencies/cities, and ASO Phase 3 on November 2 covering 25 broadcast areas in 63 regencies/cities.Kominfo together with multiplexing (mux) organizers also distributed free digital TV set top boxes to poor households.A total of 6.7 million units were distributed throughout Indonesia.
