As part of the IFA, we were able to take a closer look at the previous top model, the QN900B in 85 inches - why so far?Because Samsung followed it up with the huge QN100B at the IFA, we were of course also there at the start.Nevertheless, we also liked to look at the QN900B.Samsung has further optimized the 2021 Neo QLED technology in this model series.The "Quantum-Matrix Technology Pro", as the 2022 version is called, has an even more precise control of the backlight.This benefits the black value, the detail contrast and the contrast range.The 2022 "Neural Quantum Processor 8K" enables first-class processing of any source material.Instead of a single neural network, the processor accesses data from 20 neural networks so that even a computationally intensive 8K image can be optimized in every detail.The largest series offers Quantum HDR4000 (85 and 75 inches, 65 inches with Quantum HDR3000).Only the QN100B with Quantum HDR5000 (!) is even better when it comes to maximum image brightness.By the way: We already tested the 65-inch QN800B series, i.e. the middle of the three 8K series 2022.What else is there to say about the QN900B?Compatibility with Dolby Atmos (including the new "Top Channel" speakers) is now a matter of course.Other features include the "Infinity Screen" with maximum display area (99 percent) and the "Attachable Slim One Connect Box & One Cable Solution" (ultra-compact, separate connection box that can be housed directly on the TV stand at the back or separately)Just like the compatibility with HDR10, HDR10+ Adaptive and HLG.The QN900B Series features Ultra Viewing Angle, 6ms input lag and Ultimate 8K Dimming Pro.Dolby Digital Plus is supported, as is the Samsung Q Symphony feature.Here you can effectively supplement the sound system of the TV with a compatible Samsung soundbar.Parts of the very powerful sound systemIn addition, a 90 watt 6.2.4 channel speaker system is installed.Bluetooth audio is of course also supported.Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are integrated as well as a DVB-C/DVB-S2/DVB-T2 double tuner.4 HDMI inputs, 1 optical digital output, an Ethernet slot, a CI+ slot, one USB-C for camera connection, WiFi 6, BT 5.2 and 3 x USB include the connection equipment.HDMI 2.1 features include 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz, VRR, HDR10+, ALLM, and of course HDMI-eARC.Less reflections thanks to the anti-reflective coating of the panelPractically, Samsung will use an anti-reflective coating again in 2022, which has an immediate positive effect in practice.Disturbing reflections are effectively minimized.The "eye comfort mode" developed by Samsung also takes into account the local times for sunrise and sunset - so that the screen settings are optimized based on these values.In addition, brightness and color saturation are reduced after sunset to protect the viewer's eyes and relax.The Real Depth Enhancer ensures a real 3D effectThe "Real Depth Enhancer" is an image depth optimizer and mimics the way the human eye perceives depth.The contrast in the foreground of the image is increased.For example, if you watch a nature documentary with elephants in the foreground, the skin with its characteristic wrinkles is presented as permanently improved.In contrast, nothing changes in the image background.This feature works excellently and ensures a very plastic, yet authentic image.Gamers are becoming increasingly important as a clientele for high-quality TVs.That's why Samsung relies on the "Motion Xcelerator Turbo Pro" feature.The first-class moving image display in 4K/144 Hz quality on the screen stands for enormous performance through clean, extremely sharp images and precise motion reproduction.Thanks to the compatibility with FreeSync Premium Pro, which is based on the core AMD FreeSync technology, image judder and screen tearing are reduced to an absolute minimum.This ensures an authentic gaming experience even with HDR games.The latency is exceptionally low, which is also an important factor.Other features include Super Ultra Wide Game View, Dynamic Black EQ and Game Motion Plus.The Samsung 8K top models are also compatible with HGiG and ALLM.We already mentioned that the TV series is compatible with Dolby Atmos.There is also Object Tracking Sound Pro (OTS Pro).With the help of audio positioning and scene analysis, the system follows the movements of objects on the screen so that the image and sound are optimally matched.There is even a dedicated center channel.As usual, the Samsung 2022 Smart Hub is clearly laid out, we know that because we have already tested several devices with the 2022 version, and the variant installed in the QN900B is identical.According to Samsung, the "finding and discovering" of content is in the foreground, so that the search for content only takes a minimum of time - this works perfectly in practice: With the three categories "Media", "Games" and "Backgrounds" the Ease of use further increased.Of course, the Samsung Smart Things app is also part of it - the TV automatically recognizes other compatible Samsung devices, which can also come from other areas -
