The latest deadline for switching off the experimental DVB-T2 multiplex of the Polish Television TVP is April 24, 2023. During the transition to the new digital terrestrial broadcasting standard, viewers within the range of the network could watch, for example, the channels TVP Dokument, TVP Kobieta, TVP Kultura or TVR Rozrywka.All were available in high definition.The experimental DVB-T2 multiplex of Polish Television was launched in 2020 and was a motivator for viewers to migrate to the new digital standard.The public broadcaster does not yet have to switch to the existing multiplex 3 from the original DVB-T technology.The Wirtualnemedia portal reminded that the existing network can continue in its unchanged form until the end of next year, which understandably caused displeasure among commercial television stations that had already switched to DVB-T2.Back in June, the National Media Institute operated with the assumption that more than 1.5 million households are not ready for the new television standard, i.e. do not have a television or set-top box capable of decoding terrestrial DVB-T2/HEVC broadcasts.Thanks to this, viewers have understandably lost the possibility of watching commercial programs, such as Polsat or TVN.Stations TVP1, TVP2, TVP Info or TVP Sport continue in the original DVB-T standard, all again in HD format.On Monday, June 27, neighboring Poland awaits the last phase of the transition to terrestrial DVB-T2 broadcasting, but this time without the participation of Czech viewers.In neighboring Poland, the transition to DVB-T2 terrestrial broadcasting took place on the night of Monday 22nd to Monday 23rd May.Public Polish Television can broadcast DVB-T multiplex 3 in the current standard until the end of 2023.Cookies Personal data Terms of use English
