German network operator Thüringer Netkom will deploy the IPTV cloud solution from Austrian IPTV service provider Ocilion on its fibre-optic network.
The company wants to use the white label product to launch an IPTV service under its own brand for existing and new customers by the end of this year.
Ocilion’s turnkey solution includes 4K set-top boxes, apps for iOS and Android, TV channel packages with interactive functions (replay, restart, pause/play, recording), an on-demand service and catch-up TV.
Thüringer Netkom is the largest regional network operator in German federal state Thuringia, offering 1Gbps internet across its nationwide fibre-optic network.
“Ocilion’s modern IPTV solution convinced us and rounds off our product portfolio perfectly. An innovative triple play offer is essential for a regional network operator like Thüringer Netkom. Especially with regard to the fibre-optic rollout to every home, an attractive TV service with contemporary reception options and features such as set-top box or app plays an important role on top of the high-performance IP connection,” said Hendrik Westendorff, Managing Director of Thüringer Netkom.
