All regions in Indonesia, including Jakarta, are moving towards digital TV broadcasting after the shutdown of analog TV broadcasts.For the public, you can check whether your television is digital TV or still analog TV.Because, if you don't prepare it, then the television broadcast that is usually watched can't be done.There are only two ways to enjoy digital broadcasts, namely analog TV assisted with a Set Top Box (STB) device or television that already supports digital TV broadcasting because it already has Digital Video Broadcasting-Second Generation Terrestrial (DVB-T2) technology.Specifically for the second option, based on data that has been updated as of June 4, 2022, as many as 850 types or models of television sets have received Kominfo certification.The list of certified digital TVs comes from various brands along with models and types, such as Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Mito, LG, Realme, Polytron, Cooccaa, Changhong, Sanken, Sharp, Aqua, Akari, Philips, Toshiba, Sony, Hisense, until Realme entered the list of Kominfo certified digital TVs.Watching digital TV broadcasts without the need for a set top box is directly from a digital TV set, not from an analog TV.Because, if it's still from analog TV, you have to use a set top box.Kominfo stated that set top boxes and digital TV must meet the applicable requirements, such as in the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 4 of 2019 dated June 28, 2019 concerning Technical Requirements for Telecommunication Equipment and/or Equipment for the Purpose of Broadcasting Television and Radio Broadcasts."Every digital television set and set top box DVB-T2 set-top box that is traded, manufactured, assembled, imported and/or used in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia is required to observe technical requirements and be based on permits in accordance with laws and regulations," said Kominfo.The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has decided to stop broadcasting analog TV and switch to digital TV broadcasting not in three more stages, but in multiple ASO.What is multiple ASO?The migration process for analog TV to digital has actually been going on since April 30, which is included in the implementation of Phase 1 of ASO. However, when it was implemented, out of 56 broadcast areas in 166 districts, only four broadcast areas were carried out in eight districts/cities.Now ahead of the implementation of Phase ASO on August 25, Kominfo has changed the method of stopping analog TV broadcasts by means of multiple ASO.Multiple ASO is the application of cessation of analog TV broadcasts which is carried out continuously until the deadline for broadcasting migration on November 2, 2022."For us to digitize television in Indonesia, it has been decided that it will be carried out in multiple stages or multiple stages, multiple ASO," said Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G.
