Over three-quarters of Polish homes can now receive DVB-T2 services.

According to the national transmission company Emitel, this follows a change to the DVB-T2/HEVC standard on the night of May 22/23, involving the terrestrial multiplexes MUX1, MUX2 and MUX4 and covering the while of the south of the country.

It adds that this marked the third of the four stages of refarming of the 700 MHz frequency band and that DVB-T2 signals now cover 68% of Poland.

The process is due to be completed on June 27. However, in accordance with a decision by the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE), the multiplex MUX3 will continue to use the DVB-T standard until the end of 2023.
